This is one of my absolute favorite images from the capitol. These two are both from out of state, so they loved feeling like visitors in their new found home.

I adored this session.  Caroline looked stunning in her cute little pink polka-dot flirty dress and it was the first time I got to meet Sam, an awesomely personable guy who was totally easy going throughout the whole shoot.  These two are planning a back yard wedding at Sam’s family lake house…  Its going to be relaxed and beautiful.  Jessica Moore with Something to Celebrate will be there to ensure that all of Coroline’s visions of vintage details are executed perfectly.  I personally can’t wait to see what they have in store.

By the way, my short stumpy legs are totally jealous of her long eastern European legs.  Its not fair…  Why don’t my Sicilian genes come with long legs??

No, I didn’t stage this next shot, Sam was goofing off a little and it just happened that the pink buttercup matched her dress perfectly!  Pastels were a plenty in this shoot.

After a nice long walk, before we were about to turn around, I looked at this amazing rock cliff face.  I turned to Caroline and asked, ‘You wanna go up there?’, totally thinking she probably wouldn’t.  Let me tell you, she scrurried up that hillside in those heels like a total pro!  I love it when clients are willing to go the extra mile.  And I love the results!  I love dramatic scale in my photography!

I have this saying, that if it you put a perfume tagline underneath my photos, then THAT is what I am going for.  I think these next two qualify in the Jenny DeMarco perfume ad portfolio pieces.  So romantic and passionate, with a hint of flirty fun. And the vines add an exotic touch.

Jasmine and Chris were in the midsts of packing up and heading up to North Carolina where Chris is going to be going into some super hero secret military training for the next year or so. He has to learn arabic in like 6months and apparently Jasmine is decorating the new house with flashcards to help him study! My Chris was looking over my shoulder while I was editing the other day and asking about this couple to which I replied…’you know that last xbox game you got for christmas…yea, this Chris does THAT in real life for a living’…he replied….’whoa!…cool….can I do that’….my answer was an emphatic no. Oh my poor Chris still wants to put in his resume’ for a job at CTU.

Yea, I think a few months apart definitly helped with turning up some heat during this session. These two were shy about showing off their love, and that makes me a very, very happy photographer.

Oh, and if having a super hero hot man in a uniform wasn’t enough to stare Jasmine with utter green envy…he can also dance and do moves like this.

I loved Katie’s boots…I really, really wanted to slip them in my trunk before I headed back to Austin.

Finally, we headed downtown. Ft. Worth was absolutely stunning with all its Christmas lights. Such a cool city and a favorite Texas town of mine. I could live there in a heartbeat. This was a really cool jazz bar downtown. You have to take an elevator down to get to it. Way freakin’ cool!

Ummm, yea. They are going to have pretty babies. Both of them have gorgeous eyes!

Congratulations you two! Can’t wait for the wedding.

But you see, when I got there and we started shooting, it wasn’t long before I remembered why I love what I do. I get to be around and photograph people who are in love. And just just regular love. No. Drunk stupid in love. The only two people in the world in love. Have your own little inside jokes in love. Love, where no matter what, as long as you have each other everything is going to be okay.

Cody was very excited about the engagement shoot. Ronda, was a little nervous and hesitant at first. Luckily for her, she has found herself a best friend that can make her laugh and at ease in an instant!

We headed over to the ‘Till Death Do Us Part’ mural to start. Ronda and Cody will have a little skeleton bride and groom on top of their cake! Can’t wait. They love Dia’ de los Muertos.

Also, they are into their Mexican history…and I got a little lesson the some certain Mexican Revolutionary’s. Viva Zepata! (A little throw back to Ronda’s heritage)

Okay, not only was Ronda adorning the cutest Betty Paige haircut and poka-dot vintage dress…but the shoes were awesome.

Okay, so now I would like to give a big shout out to a very kind and also awesome fella names Orlando (Ollie) Ponce. See, were were stolling along E. 6th street and shooting when we spot this pretty cool motorcycle across the road. I joke to Ronda and Cody..okay, now I want you to go hop on that fellas bike and lets take some more photos. (just joking). We laugh, say how cool that would be because Cody does actually ride and it would be fitting for their whole rocka-billy concept. Anyway, we cross the street and start taking a few more images on a near by bench when Ollie comes strolling out of the restuant asking Ronda and Cody if their were getting married and want hop on his bike! How random is that!

So thank you Ollie for letting us use your bike! Ollie is an Argentinian Tango instructor…so if you want to contact him, give me a shout and I will give you his number!

Now, on with the show. The other real reason I love photographing this couple is because Cody can make Ronda light up like a Christmas Tree. You see, he whispers something funny or sweet in her ear and this girls eyes sparkle! It makes my heart melt…Now that is a catch!

Absolute joy in both their faces!

I think these two are going to be happy together for a long, long, long time and end up being that cute little old couple that still love each other like they do today! I can hear the old man Cody’s wisecracks now!

And so my friends. This is why I love my job.

Ashley S is good friends with Ashley V. And a great impromptu photos shoot earlier this spring turned into being a part of a network of friends very special days. I am really looking forward to being there and seeing all of them together.

Ashley and Michael live and love Ft. Worth. And while I don’t live there, its my second favorite city in Texas (Austin is of course my favorite) and I just so happen to have a dear old friend that lives there that I was needing to visit. So we chose to shoot their engagement session in the city they love and at the University they love. These two are big TCU alums and supporters.

Michael used to play football for TCU. And so did his dad…how cool is that.

His number…21.

This door leads to some offices now, but used to be the locker room where his dad used to get ready for game day. How cool is that!

I love being able to photograph couples in places that are meaningful to them. Game day for this couple is an important part of their lives, part of their history and part of the enjoyment in this world.

We then headed to the stockyards, an absolute must for anyone visiting or living in Ft. Worth.

It was hot, this is August people. It was time for a beer break, okay by my me. I am seriously thinking of offering a ‘pre-shoot’ beer for all my engagement session. What do you think?

Heather and David wanted to grab a few quintessential ‘Austin’ photographs around South Congress with bright colors, so this is where we started out session, praying that the rain would hold off.

Heather’s green eyes are gorgeous! 

This girl knows how to accessorize! I love love all the jewels! And check out that gorgeous ring, bling!

Then we headed out to Dripping Springs to the Duchman Family Winery and Damian Mondola’s restaurant Trattoria Lisina. If you haven’t made a trip out there, GO now! Its gorgeous, the winery has a great tasting room and the Damion’s restaurant is amazing! (he is a part of the Carrabba family and has Mondola’s Italian Markets in case you are trying to make the connection.)

These two love each other, look after each other and truly are best friends. I can’t wait to see them get hitched next year!

Then these two treated me to the most amazing pizza ever…yummo! We sat out on the patio, waiting for the sun to go down and the twinkly festive lights to shine. So we could get one last shot of the night.

Robin and Andrew are two very down to earth wonderful people that I am so happy to have met. They are both architects whom have experienced amazing adventures around the world together. I am seriously jealous of these two! I think Chris and I are going to have to start planning some more adventures of our own soon…

They both had studied architecture school at A&M, but lost touch after graduation and didn’t even realize they were both living in Austin until one day, they randomly bumped into each other crossing the street at 6th and Lamar headed to a concert at Waterloo Records. So this is where our shoot begins!

Their engagement story is un-friggin believable! And (apart from my own on the Charles Bridge….love you babe!) is one of my favs. Andrew had been designing  the perfect engagement ring with a local jeweler that used stones and platinum from both of their families for about six months hoping it would be ready before they departed on their latest adventure to Africa. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite ready yet and he would have to wait until they came back to pop the question. After a four day back packing trip through Malolotja Nature Reserve, on top of a mountain peak at sunset, Andrew couldn’t let the moment pass by. To quote their wedding website  ‘Andrew asked Robin to marry him and spend a lifetime of adventures together. Her response was a resounding, "of course!" He proposed with a woven silver and giraffe tail hair ring made by a local silver-smith.’ And when they returned home, she was given her engagement ‘bling’ I mean ring.

Robin got the best of both worlds! Good job Andrew!!!

While I would have love to revisit the mountain top in Africa with them for an engagement shoot, we settled on a little Austin adventure to some of its great native environments nearby.

Seriously, this is one good looking couple! 

And this is where my heart starts to melt and I let out a big sigh…oh how of love these next images. I can’t even express how much they make me feel the love between this couple…
