Robin + Andrew :: Camp Lucy Wedding, Dripping Springs Wedding Photography

September 24, 2010

I am so excited to show you Robin and Andrew’s wedding. I met this wonderful couple in June and am absolutely astonished at what an amazingly beautiful wedding they pulled together in just a few short months with so many challenges (like it being outside in August!) Even with the crazy Texas heat, Robin couldn’t have looked more radiant and their wedding couldn’t have been a classier affair. They really looked after their guests and put some truly original personal touches to their wedding.

I arrived in the early wee hours, and Camp Lucy couldn’t have been more glorious at sunrise (seriously, more people should think about morning weddings, especially in the summer months!)

Robin’s Casablanca dress and shoes were to die for! Beautiful, classic, sophisticated with a touch of flirty fun (sweet Robin’s personality all the way).

And love these shoes! Badgley Mishka.

Because of the timing of the wedding, Robin and Andrew elected to see each other before the wedding. I love it when couples choose a ‘First Look’, its a way for them to share a moment together in private, and its intimate and beautiful.

The guests were given taupe parasols with little tags that say ‘please shade yourself’. Too cute! The MOB was amazing with the details.

The guest were entertained with Scottish bagpipes (a throwback to Andrews family heritage)

So their details were amazing! Robin’s family used to own a seed company and they used some their family heirloom burlap seed bags as table centerpieces. The colors and burlap theme ran through out their wedding details. Robin even carried raw cotton in her bouquet.

They also incorporated the yellow color (from the corn seed bags) into the wedding theme. Lemons and lemon drops were everywhere, very appropriate for a summer wedding.

And remember the story I told you about the Robin’s two engagement rings, well here they are! Andrew worked with a jeweler to custom design the ring on the right, incorporating stones and metal from both Robin and Andrew’s families. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite ready when Andrew proposed on top of a mountain in Africa. So the ring on the left is one he purchased from a local craftsmen in a village while they were traveling, made from silver and giraffe tail. Talk about make a girl envious! You go girl!

Robin and Andrew served brunch to their guests which was provided by one of Austin’s best caterer’s Royal Fig. Seriously, if you haven’t called Kristin for your wedding you are missing out. They always serve unique menu’s for their client (I don’t think I have seen a repeat yet). The day’s menu consisted of crème brûlée french toast, eggs benedict, handpicked cheeses from Antonelli’s cheese shop, a bloody marry and mimosa bar, and of course, the cinnamon roll tower (above). Dear lord, hope you weren’t dieting that day, the food was beyond amazing.
