This is such a great wedding to share. First off…lets start with this FABULOUS!!! bride and her dress..yowsers. I met Caroline at the W hotel to document her getting ready. The W hotel is just swoon worthy. I love modern design and this place just makes my heart pitter patter. Add a beautiful bride and a dresses to die for…and I was a little beside myself with delight. I was in a little fashionista heaven!
Okay, seriously…the next images…um…yea…Caroline is GORGEOUS and THAT dress…OMG!
So, Caroline has the cutest son on the planet, Austin. And for a kid, about to walk his momma down the aisle, it was like ‘forever’ waiting there. (you know 10 minutes is like 10 kid years right..)
But seriously, he was really really excited. And this is one of my favorite images of the two of them. This is just moments before their big entrance.
Austin was in charge of taming the veil. It was really, really windy at the lake house.
Okay, and then this part of the ceremony made me tear up. Sam wrote a special vow to his new son and it was the most heartfelt, sincere and loving thing I had ever heard. I have seen sand ceremonies, butterfly releases and all sorts of symbolic gestures when there are kids involved in the wedding. But this to me, was by far the most special, simple and yet authentic gesture I have ever witnessed. Sam made a separate promise to his new son and it was such a moving part of the ceremony.
And then Sam presented Austin with his own ring. So awesome! I think every woman in the crowd now has a soft spot for this groom. Whata guy! Good catch Caroline.
Caroline’s family is all from Poland so she pulled out all the stops and offered a really nice tea service for her guests. The vintage china was a theme through out her wedding decor and it was nice seeing it used.
So after the couple cut the cake, her Polish family start chanting. Caroline leans over to Sam and says to him that they want us to kiss. So they did, and the family cheered and chanted some more. They made them kiss at least a half a dozen times and sang some Polish songs too. It was pretty awesome.
