How did you choose your venue, Oohla Bean?
We wanted something outdoors and Oohla Bean had this great, airy feel to it. We also loved the design and décor of the venue and that the property was surrounded by the most beautiful trees and backdrop.
Describe your decor and how you chose it?
Our décor had a rustic elegance that incorporated a lot of lush greenery, white flowers, and touches of creams and golds. We were also big on lighting, so we had drip lighting hanging from the trees, along the long tables and as the backdrop for our band; It added a romantic element to the venue and really warmed the space.
Why did you choose me, Jenny, to be your wedding photographer?
In viewing Jenny’s portfolio, I felt like she captured the true joy and essence of each wedding she shot. You could see the unique personality of the couples and that stood out to me the most. She’s great at catching those candid, intimate moments when you think no one’s looking. Those were all so fun to see.
What was one of your favorite moments from the your wedding day?
My husband wrote me a letter before we walked down the aisle. Reading that and seeing his face for the first time was definitely my favorite moment.
What was your favorite image from your wedding day?
Jenny captured a black and white photo of our first kiss under the chuppah. It has an ethereal, almost dreamlike feel to it feel to it and is by far our favorite image of the night.
Did any of your other vendors go above and beyond for you?
Our band, Austin Party Band really went above and beyond for us. Not only did they learn a number of our favorite songs (including the one I walked down the aisle to), but they offered to play for an extra hour longer because they were having so much fun. That was a great feeling and such a nice surprise to have them there until the very end of the night.
Do you have any tips to share with other couples?
Take a moment after the ceremony to just be with each other; Share a glass of wine, have a few appetizers and relish in that moment. Throughout the night you can get pulled in different directions, but try to stay by each other’s sides as much as possible. Really step back at different points and take it all in; it goes by so fast. Don’t forget to try all the food!!!
