How did you choose your venue Rancho Mirando?
We had taken a trip to California and originally wanted to get married in Napa. After looking at around 15 venues, I just couldn’t wrap myself around having a destination wedding. I knew it would be hard for a few very important people in my life to make that trip. So we came back to Texas and Dallas took me to Rancho Mirando. It was magical and everything I could have dreamed of. There were so many different location options for the wedding events and we got to stay at the ranch from Friday to Sunday. The rustic, romantic charm was so unique and I knew it was the perfect venue. The owner, Donna, and her daughter, Leslie were so amazing. The wedding date we originally wanted was booked the day we went to tour the property. Leslie could tell how upset I was so she called the bride, explained the situation and the bride gave the date up for me! Once the date was opened, we booked and never looked back. I’ll be forever grateful to them!
Describe your decor and how you chose it?
I like traditional elegance. I also LOVE the color pink. I wanted a soft, romantic feel but also a bold transition color, hence the navy blue. My florist took the design up a notch and incorporated some merlot, which was perfect for the wine that we love. The sequin table cloths really helped the decor to sparkle and I wouldn’t have chose them without the help of Donna, the owner of the venue. Her floral designs took my breath away. I was in shock when I saw the arch she made for the ceremony! We were really happy with the rustic signs we had made for the bar and cigars.
Why did you choose me, Jenny, to be your wedding photographer?
We looked online at a ton of photographers and narrowed it down to 3. We really liked Jenny’s consistent work and she captured some pretty epic shots of her previous brides. We liked the style of her editing and color contrast and just overall unique ability to have the creative vision she does. She is just so personable and made us feel 100% comfortable.

What was one of your favorite moments from the your wedding day?
Walking down the aisle was my #1 favorite moment. Being surrounded by all of my family and friends, all of the emotion I never felt before, and the incredibly perfect & beautiful setting was something I will never forget. I also was so surprised by Dallas’ surprise dance and video he made for me. It just goes to show how lucky I am to have married such a wonderful man. I love surprises so I was very happy and excited when all that happened!
What was your favorite image from your wedding day?
There are so many!! I really love the one of Dallas and I sitting in front of the hacienda, snugged into each other. The one of my father when he first saw me in my dress was pretty incredible as well. I have about 100 favorites so that is really hard to answer. One of my best friend’s mother, Connie Teykl did all of the smaller flower arrangements and our bouquets. I will be forever grateful for her, she saved me a lot of money and her work was impeccable! Her flowers blended beautifully with everything else.

Did any of your other vendors go above and beyond for you?
My florist, Donna Aldred, definitely went above and beyond my expectations on the arch at the ceremony and my flowers at the wedding. I was so blown away when I saw them. Donna and her daughter, Leslie were always so quick to answer my phone calls and emails during the planning of the wedding. They helped so much with the whole process. I really appreciated how much attention they gave to the details!

Do you have any tips to share with other couples?
Remember this day is about you and your groom and no one else. Everything will be OK, even if parts aren’t perfect, they make for amazing memories and make your day uniquely yours. Have fun! My wedding was so magical and I wish I could go back and relive it all over again!
