How did you choose your venues? St. John Neumann and Hotel Granduca
I grew up going to St. John Neumann, so getting married there meant a lot to me and my mom. For the reception, Cameron wanted something unique. We have been to a lot of weddings around Austin, and his number one criteria was somewhere we’d never been before. Hotel Granduca fit the bill perfectly!
Describe your decor and how you chose it?
Going in I knew I didn’t want the traditional white wedding. I love color, and wanted a lot of pinks and corals in the flowers. We had a lot of gold detailing in the Save the Dates and Invitations, so we incorporated gold throughout the reception as well.
Tell me about your attire – who designed your dress and where did you buy it?
My dress is Rivini and I purchased it at Julian Gold!
What shoes did you choose and what jewelry did you wear?
My shoes were ivory badgley mischka. I wore pearls given to me by my grandmother, and I had my great grandmother’s rosary fastened to my bouquet.
Who designed the bridesmaids dresses?
Amsale
And your groom – tell me about his look – who was his suit designer?
Classic black tux from Jos A Bank 🙂
Any other significant accessories?
My best friends have a tradition of passing down a garter. The previous bride has the next bride-to-be’s initials embroidered in her wedding colors and gives it to her at a bridal shower.
Why did you choose me, Jenny, to be your wedding photographer?
I didn’t know any photographers in Austin. Brock & Co sent a list, and I just loved your pictures the most!
What was one of your favorite moments from your wedding day?
Our first look in the rain. It was so romantic, and I will never forget the way he looked at me when he first saw me.
What was your favorite image from your wedding day?
A picture of us under the umbrella looking at each other.
Did any of your other vendors go above and beyond for you?
Every single one. I cannot say enough good things about Brock & Co. They thought of every last thing. Wendee Sawran did an amazing job with the flowers, especially the beautiful feature above the fountain. Polkadots created an unbelievable grooms cake that was even better than I envisioned!
Do you have any tips to share with other couples?
If your photographer has a crazy idea GO WITH IT! Just might end up being your favorite part of your day!
