Natalie and Ryan have always loved to travel and experience new and exciting things together. Ryan is from the pacific northwest and Natalie grew up here in the heart of the hill country. The two realized how special the museum was and realized that this was their dream venue. From the grand staircase to all of the history housed in this space, The Bob Bullock Museum is a dream wedding spot. The two were excited to celebrate with theirs loved ones in a place that is so special to Natalie, Austin. Natalie and Ryan added a new story to the space that night and were sent off by a sea of sparkers and onto their next adventure.
Q. What are your day jobs?
A. Ryan – Works at a startup (OfferUp) working on a payment system. Natalie – Works in finance at Nordstrom Corporate.
Q. Where did you both grow up?
A. Ryan – Just outside Seattle (Mercer Island). Natalie – Houston and went to UT Austin.
Q. Tell me about the proposal?
A. We take turns planning a date every month. April was Ryan’s turn to plan so he first took Natalie to look at and take pictures in the Tulip Fields north of Seattle. We went the previous year and she loved it. After that we drove over to Deception Pass and walked around taking in the views. We then did lunch on Whidbey Island. Following that, we went to Fort Casey State Park. Ryan had tricked Natalie into thinking the ring wouldn’t be ready (she was consulted on the appearance) until May, so she didn’t see it coming. We found a secluded spot on beach near the lighthouse and Ryan proposed there.
Q. Name a few places that are special to you. This could be a vacation, a concert, something you enjoy doing together locally, etc. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy; just someplace you have made memories together.

A. We love to travel! It’s frequently to cities to see friends, but we’ve been to Hawaii a couple times and our favorite island is Kauai.

We also live on Lake Union in Seattle and we love watching the boats and planes on the lake. Tuesday night’s there is a big saiboat race on Lake Union called the Duck Dodge that we love watching from or place.

Q. When you can do anything you want to do, what do you do?

i.e. what are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your leisure time, what makes you happy?

A. Ryan is a HUUUUUGGGGGEEEEE sports fan. Natalie tolerates this addiction. He loves to golf and we’ve started playing together. We also enjoy going on hikes, although we don’t do that very often. We enjoy relaxing at home watching various TV series on Netflix. We’re currently watching The Wire. Natalie has an appreciation for photography and enjoys dabbling at improving her photography skills. Natalie also enjoys yoga. Natalie also enjoys shopping and fashion, her corporate discount at Nordstrom is often put to good use. Ryan tries to keep up with what’s going on in the tech world for work.

Q. What is your favorite music and/or songs that mean the most to you as a couple? A playlist of sorts would be great! And any stories are great too!
A. Ryan listens to a wide range of music (EDM to country) and we both enjoy listening to country music and top 40. We attend a couple concerts a year. We’ve recently seen Eric Church, Macklemore, The Black Keys and we’ll be seeing Adele in July.
Q. What are your favorite foods/restaurants?
A. We love to eat out and try new restaurants! Our favorite restaurant in Seattle to frequent is Din Tai Fung. It’s a restaurant that originated in Taiwan and they make incredible handmade dumplings!
Q. Any pets? Tell me about them!
A. No pets, but Natalie loves dogs! Ryan likes them too. We also follow a few dogs on Instagram (Marnie the dog, Doug the Pug, Toast Meets World). It’s an inside joke between us that Natalie would like to have a miniature animal farm. That’s a joke, sort of.
Q. Anything else you would like for me to know?

A. Ryan’s favorite sports teams are the Gonzaga Bulldogs, Seattle Seahawks, Mariners and Sounders. He’s also an Ohio State football fan, much to Natalie’s chagrin. She’s a proud Longhorn fan.

We’re currently living together in Seattle and Austin is a special place to Natalie from her time there in college. All of our friends seem very excited about visiting Austin for our wedding, especially since the night before is Cinco de Mayo.
