Brooke and Charlie took Old Austin and made the most elegant and special night out of it. The two started at the Little Field home and the red brick surrounding them made for amazing shots that will forever stand out. Brooke is from Austin and the wedding all in all was so sweet and special because she was able to say “I DO” to her forever in her childhood church. An old place now filled with so many new memories. The two decided to get married at the infamous Austin Club and the event was filled with beautiful white, gold, and green details. The tables were scattered with small and dainty hanging lights that were fairytale like. The final photo of the two is so special and sweet because they made this city their own and now have forever to continue making beautiful memories.

How did you choose your venues?

We both wanted to be married in the church and The University United Methodist Church is Brooke’s childhood church. The Austin Club is centrally located downtown with a beautiful ballroom and we wanted most of the wedding events to be central and easy for our many out of town guests. It’s a hidden gem and part of “old Austin!”

Describe your decor and how you chose it?

The décor was really classic with winter whites, golds, and lots of  texture. We wanted an understated, elegant look that worked well for January but we warmed it up with lots of candles and personal touches.

Tell me about your attire – who designed your dress and where did you buy it?

My dress and lace topper were both Augusta Jones and I got them from Unbridaled in Austin. My veil was from an Etsy artist from San Antonio!

What shoes did you choose and what jewelry did you wear?

Jewelry from J. Crew and Nadri, shoes from Stuart Weitzman, vintage rings from my grandmothers, and our wedding rings are from Calvin’s Fine Jewelry in Austin

Who designed the bridesmaids dresses?

Dessy in the color oyster

And your groom – tell me about his look – who was his suit designer? Any other significant accessories?

Charlie’s entire outfit was from The Black Tux. I also gifted him a black Shinola watch band for his watch and personalized cufflinks from Esty.

Why did you choose me, Jenny, to be your wedding photographer?

We chose you, Jenny, because of your amazing indoor work. We knew that with a January date and two indoor venues, lighting would be tough and that you were up for the job. You also are such a calming presence who worked so well with our other vendors – and planner – which was a great bonus!

What was one of your favorite moments from your wedding day?

Seeing each other for the first time walking down the aisle was truly a special moment. All of the reception speeches were hilarious and we had the best time dancing with everyone at our reception. It was a serious party.

What was your favorite image from your wedding day?

I personally love my pictures with our flower girl, Lucy. She is the first kid of one of my closest friends and means so much to me. We both really love this picture that has Charlie’s parents dancing with my parents dancing in the background. They both have such beautiful, but different marriages and we are so grateful for them.

Did any of your other vendors go above and beyond for you?

Our planner Becky with Pearl Events was the best. Not only was she a joy throughout the planning process, but she kept the day flowing perfectly. Westbank Flower Market blew me away with our head table, The Inviting Pear did a really unique vinyl monogram for us, and our videographer from Waterloo was fantastic. And finally, my makeup gal Denise Vasquez stayed around late to do touch ups and ended up being the one to straighten my train and open the doors before I walked down the aisle. She was fantastic!

Do you have any tips to share with other couples?

Hire vendors that you enjoy being around, prioritize what’s really important to you, and do your best to be present on the big day because it goes by so quickly. And for the brides during the planning process: make a decision and move on – no one cares if your menu print is bolded or italicized
