Q. How did you choose your venues?

As a wedding coordinator, it was important to me to not get married at a venue I worked at. Woodbine was brand new so it was perfect. Actually, it was perfect because it was perfect! It is such a beautiful venue with so much history and character.

Q. Describe your decor and how you chose it?

I didn’t know anything about what I wanted until I started planning and as I do in my attire and home decor, I gravitate to neutrals! I wanted a classic and timeless look. Alex, my husband, would always say our wedding was like a mullet – business/fancy in the front, and then a party in the back- which is exactly what we wanted! Beautiful but relaxed!

Q. Tell me about your attire – who designed your dress and where did you buy it?

My dress was designed by, Made with Love, a group out of Australia. I bought it at Blue Bridal Salon- and had the BEST experience there!

Q. What shoes did you choose and what jewelry did you wear?

I have seen too many brides be miserable in their shoes, so I wanted something comfortable and affordable! I honestly don’t know the designer, they were from Nordstrom! I wore a necklace and earrings from Etsy that I fell in love with because the necklace hung down my back! With my ponytail, I thought that was a must 🙂

Q. And your groom – tell me about his look – who was his suit designer? Any other significant accessories?

Alex wore a custom Tux from Suit Supply ! It was another great experience. When we bought the tux, we also got him a custom suit for our Friday night event so really was awesome! Alex’s dad passed away a few years ago, so he wore his Rolex watch and that was the most important piece of his look.

Q. Why did you choose us, Jenny and Stacy, to be your wedding photographers?

Well, other than the fact we are extremely comfortable with y’all since we are friends – and I know how important that is in photos, it was because of the insane amount of talent you two possess. The real and raw moments that you capture are EVERYTHING. On top of that, from the coordinator side of things, I know you keep things on time/moving- and you both are wonderful about “fixing” things when they need to be fixed. For example, making sure I didn’t have a double chin when I was looking down at my bouquet for photos was so important!!! I love natural photos- but it is also the best thing to have some tweaks to ensure the photos of yourself turn out how you felt that day 🙂 You two are so so talented and we are beyond lucky and grateful to have you as our photographers.

Q. What was one of your favorite moments from your wedding day?

Seeing Alex throughout the day was the best thing we could do. We didn’t do a “first look” but we got dressed together. I know how busy wedding days get, and so we wanted to spend as much time together as we possibly could!! The vows were also my favorite, then having our private meal. Also- the entire reception/dancing time with everyone- and again, Alex and I stayed together the entire night and it was so much fun being around everyone we love. We are so lucky!

What was your favorite image from your wedding day?

I can’t pick. Don’t make me pick. All of them!!! SERIOUSLY. But, if I hadddd to pick.. the one of the kiss at the ceremony that you took from behind and so our families faces are in the back and then the one of us right after the ceremony – so perfect. But also, the cake cutting photos, the dancing photos, the getting dressed photos, the pictures of the families, the DETAIL shots, etc. etc. etc. so yeah, all of them.

Do you have any tips to share with other couples?

Please do what works for you. It is your wedding day! I know tradition is important to some, but if it doesn’t work for you or your family, do not force things. ENJOY the day. As a wedding planner, I truly knew the importance of letting things go and I had the BEST time and trusted the experts. My advice would be “Hire the best and step aside”! Which is just what we did and I would do it exactly the same over and over again!!
