Katie + Brian :: Mansion at Judges Hill Wedding

May 27, 2011

Katie and Brian were such an easy going and fun couple that I don’t think stopped laughing and smiling their entire wedding.  These two put on the most gorgeous and classy wedding, and all the while enjoyed themselves and had a great time with their amazing crowd of friends.  It was such a pleasure being a part of their day at the Mansion at Judge’s Hill.

Katie accessorized her Allure Couture gown with a beautiful purple broach from her grandmother’s jewelry collection.  I think its great when brides wear pieces from the other women in their family.

And I love this image for the shape her petty coat made when she fluffed it out.

Such a beauty.  Katie planned her timeline well, allowing some time for day-of bridal portraits.  Ladies, we can always do this on the wedding day, we just have to plan in enough time.  Oh, and I love, love her flowers, straight from Martha Stewart Weddings.

Brian was very stylish in his navy and pink tie.

Brian and Katie chose to have a first look before their ceremony.  And because they chose to see each other beforehand, they had some time to themselves. Also, they were able to head straight to the party to spend the majority of their time with their guests that were so special to them.  Read their little comments below, it will help for any couples that are considering seeing each other first.

Even their first dance was pure elegance.  I love this dip!  Way to go Brian!

And then the party started.  Brian had the rowdiest, most fun loving groomsmen who made sure that the party was ON!  The guys were hilarious and they kept the place bouncing.  Fab group of friends.  I love them all!

Yes, they coordinated the tie-headbands.  One of the groomsmen said he saw a picture of his dad as a wedding guest, with his tie around his head and decided to make it a tradition amongst their group.  Sounds like a great tradition to me!

The girls sang to Katie that is her sorority tradition, and one of my favorites to see at weddings.

A big congrats to these two!  It was an honor and a pleasure to be there at your wedding.  You are both blessed to have such a great group of family and friends and each other.

A few words from the bride and groom:

  • Q. Bride: What is your favorite memory of the day?
    A. I loved it all.  My favorite memory is that I was just so happy!  I wanted to push repeat on the whole thing.  I got to see my favorite people all together and that is priceless.  Our families are so much fun and Brian and I loved celebrating the start of our lives together with them.
  • Q. Groom: What is your favorite memory of the day?
    A. There is a tie at the top for my favorite memory.  If I have to choose one it would be seeing Katie for the first time on the balcony of the mansion and just being able to talk to her about how her day was going and how she was feeling.  A very close 2nd place however was the vows.  I loved being able to say them with such conviction in front of 150 people.
  • Q. Bride: What advice would you give future brides?
    A. Enjoy it.  People say it goes by fast.  Pace yourself and soak it up.  Getting to hang out with my sister, mom and friends was wonderful then getting to see Brian all by ourselves.  Its like the day unfolded in an organic way.  Seeing people one by one.  Also, talk about it after!  One of my favorite parts of the day was after it all, on the carriage ride, discussing our whole day.  It was fun to hear the other side.
  • Q. Groom: What advice would you give to future grooms?
    A. See your bride before she walks down the aisle.  If you’ve come this far its not bad luck…. Also, there is no reason to try and coral your groomsmen (no matter how crazy they get.) Just have fun and don’t get nervous.  She already said she’d marry you so just relax and enjoy the ride.
  • Q. Where did you go on your honeymoon
    A. Costa Rica.
  • Q. Who was your dress designer
    A. Allure Couture.
  • Q. What was the song to your first dance?
    A. Le Vie En Rose.
