Barr Mansion Wedding with Papel Picado : Xaviera and Chris

June 4, 2012

Xaviera had a vision for her wedding, and I was so excited when she was at her premiere and she shouted this is EXACTLY what I wanted my wedding to look like. She did an incredible job of adding classy touches of her Mexican culture in a beautiful garden setting out at Barr Mansion. (which is also where my sweetheart and I got hitched!) The Artisan Ballroom ceiling was covered in this beautiful delicate hand cut white tissue papel picado. A tribute to their amazing coordinating team, BZ events, who scoured to find this custom made decoration. I think someone told me a sweet little granny down in Mexico city made these.

Here are some of the great people that worked on this wedding with me:

2nd photographer – Trish Finfer – she caught the groom taking a deep breath out when he saw his stunning bride walk down the aisle. I love that shot

Coordinator – Megan Heffron from BZ events – absolute dream team to work with! They live up to their stellar reputation.

Floral – Stems – Did you see those balsa wood flowers in the brides bouquet…really cool!

Q. Bride: What is your favorite memory of the day?
A. This is not romantic at all, but my favorite time is when i saw everything coming together. Being a small biz owner i’m all about making a plan and I get so excited when i see it come together. So it was to see all the details put up and executed. 2nd favorite was seeing Chris’s blue eyes light up when I was walking toward him down the aisle. 3rd favorite was seeing my dad perform, 4th favorite was riding in the limo after the wedding and relaxing with my husband.
Q. Groom: What is your favorite memory of the day?
A. Seeing my bride walk down the aisle. Dancing with my beautiful wife. Watching all of my family and friends have a blast with my new family. Watching my mom dance her little heart out. Dancing with Xav’s grandma. Xav’s family performing on stage.
Q. Bride: What advice would you give future brides?
A. Hire Jenny D for pics!! Get a handheld fan to carry around. Go pee BEFORE you put on ur dress. Pay attention to the day, don’t let it slip by without taking mental pictures of the things that you like. I did and my pictures are awesome (in my mind).
Q. Groom: What advice would you give to future grooms?
A. The wedding planning process might be a huge pain in the a$$, but hang in there. It’ll be worth it…
Q. Where did you go on your honeymoon
A. St. Lucia
Q. Who was your dress designer
A. Enzoani
Q. Shoe designer?
A. Bagdley Mischka
Q. What was the song to your first dance?
A. Keith Urban – Making Memories of Us
