Q. Where did you both grow up?

Sugarland, Texas!

Q. How did you meet?

We first met at St. Laurence Catholic School in Pre-K 4. Started dating in 7th Grade at St. Laurence and then attended high schools across the street from each other. We both attended and graduated from Texas A&M University in 2019.

Q. Tell me about the proposal!

Elizabeth is very hard to get anything past. Her parents have called her a CIA agent since she was little, my dad calls her KGB. So, I told no one except the family until the day of the proposal. I told Elizabeth that we were going to my grandparents’ house for an anniversary dinner for them. Their anniversary was the week before so this was a very plausible thing for her to believe. The night before, Elizabeth and I had dinner. She asked me if I would pick her up before going over so she wouldn’t have to drive. I instinctively told her no, but ended up taking her anyway. We get there and no one else is at the house. I told her my dad wanted to take family pictures and then he shows up asking if we’ll be his “test subjects.” We head down to the dock behind their house and get ready to take pictures. My dad tells us his camera battery is dead and heads inside. As soon as my dad disappeared, I told Elizabeth that there was no party. I think that’s when she figured it out. I proposed on the dock and then we went back to my parent’s house where our families were waiting for us.

Q. What are a few places that are special to you. This could be a vacation, a local hiking spot, where you met, something you enjoy doing together locally, etc. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy; just someplace you have made memories together.

Belleville, TX: My grandparents have a ranch there and we’ve had a lot of good memories together out there. Our first kiss was actually nearby at some family friend’s place.

Beaver Creek, CO: We’ve been skiing here together several times, but the first time we went together was our first vacation solo.

Q. What are your hobbies? What do you like to do in your leisure time? What makes you happy when you are spending time together?
Elizabeth Solo Hobbies: I like to cook and bake. I’m much better at cooking. I don’t find measuring very necessary so as you could imagine – baking and I don’t always get along. I also love to plan and organize. If I could host a dinner party every Saturday night, I would.
Daniel Solo Hobbies: Hunting, Fishing, Snowboarding.
Elizabeth likes to ski and Daniel likes to snowboard. We’ve been going to Beaver Creek for New Year and have started an annual ski trip with our six best friends. We enjoy playing golf together. I played in high school and Daniel started playing at the end of college. We both like to travel and have been to a pretty good amount of places together. We did a big Europe trip after graduation in May 2019. We’re both close with our family as well so we spend a good amount of time with them. We enjoy walking, eating at new restaurants… anything spending time together is fun. Nothing fancy.

Q. What is your favorite music and/or songs that mean the most to you as a couple?

Our first “song” was “All of Me” by John Legend. We’ve moved past that now. Our first dance was to “All Your’n” by Tyler Childers.

Q. What are you the most proud of about your partner? Brag about them!

Elizabeth: Daniel does not let anything or anybody get in his way. He knows what he wants and he will always figure out how to get it done. Daniel will do anything for his friends and family. He is loyal to everyone in his life and will give you his all. He is extremely driven and is always one step ahead. He is a gem.

Daniel: Elizabeth is very good at dealing with people. She has put up with a lot between work, school, friends, etc., but always treats everyone well, regardless of what she’s really thinking. She is also very passionate about things she cares about. When she wants to do something, she does it all the way.

Q. What do you love most about your partner?

Elizabeth: Daniel is very easy to love. He’s very smart, straightforward, and funny. He’s quick to make a sarcastic joke or find a way to make you laugh. He’s a serious guy but doesn’t take life too seriously. He will be there in a minute if you need him and he won’t complain about it. We balance each other perfectly.

Daniel: Elizabeth always knows what I’m thinking. When I’m in a good mood, she’s the first one to notice. The second would be my family, who notices how good of a mood she puts me in. When I’m in a bad mood, she’s the first one to notice and grab my hand. She’s incredibly thoughtful with everyone.

Q. What are each of your favorite drinks when you are celebrating? Craft beer, wines, cocktails, bubbly, or a mocktail?
Elizabeth: Champagne, Red Wine, Rose, French 75, Margarita
Daniel: Old Fashioned, Beer, Bourbon, Red Wine
